About Washington National Parks Fund
Washington's National Park Fund (WNPF) is the only official philanthropic partner of Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks. Your support helps wildlife and wild places thrive, enriching people’s experiences and passion for the iconic national parks in our backyard. No one else does what we do and 100% of the money raised stays in Washington state to support our state’s three largest national parks.
Washington’s National Park Fund supports 50 to 75 critical projects annually in Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks. Some are big, some are small, but all fill a critical need and have impact. WNPF works closely with the park leadership as they select the priority projects for their respective parks.
The projects fall into four core areas:
- advancing science and research,
- improving visitors’ experiences,
- expanding volunteerism and stewardship, and
- providing for youth and family programs.
Laurie Ward, CEO, leads a team of four dedicated staff and more than 20 passionate and engaged board members to bring to life the vision of former governor and senator Dan Evans and legendary mountaineer Lou Whittaker, awarding more than $5.5 million in the last seven years to support Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks.
